The Lax Road to Denver – The Arrival

Team Scotland Lax Welcome at World Lacrosse Championships 2014 in DenverGood news is here! Mr. Nye Gordon from Team Scotland Lacrosse is alive and well and in Denver already! He got in contact with us for a last quick update before the games and start and also has some pretty cool pictures too!

 A nice welcome

Team Scotland arrived at various points throughout Friday the 4th.

So we have arrived. Team Scotland arrived at various points throughout Friday the 4th. Saturday was spent doing all the things we normally do at the start of the tournament, the opening ceremony to welcome the squad to the tournament and getting all of our gear (some very nice new kit, Nike, Under Armour and a sweet new Cascade R helmet).

But being there didn’t mean that the team would rest at all. In fact, the opening ceremony seemed to hinder their wanting to practice again as soon as possible, so they were happy when they could get on the field once again, as Nye tells us in the next part.

About training and thanks

We worked over the basics, ran through our usual warm ups and got used to playing alongside each other again.

With all of the opening work out the way, the whole team was excited to get our first practice together as a squad in Denver. We worked over the basics, ran through our usual warm ups and got used to playing alongside each other again. After putting in some hard work, we spent some time talking about what we are going to do over the next few days, our warm up trainings and scrimmages.

Anyway after finally getting here I’ve got to say thank you to the support I’ve got from friends and family to help me get here. The whole team is raring to go and I’m sure our preparation will lead to results. I’ll write up something soon after the first of our warm up games letting Captain Lax know how we got on.

We can’t wait to hear from Mr. Gordon again and see what the team’s morale is as the championships progress. Until then, we hope their training goes smoothly and that they can keep their excitement in check – we know we can’t!

Sticks up!
