To avoid the problem of constantly having to restring your toplaces as they fret, because of countless groundballs, just put some tape around them. Its so much easier to retape the strings than to restring the topstrings. You can also just put some glue on the topstrings, let it dry for a while and you're good to go. Just make sure you don´t glue the strings to the head.
When stringing your head with a new mesh, make sure you stretch it out before you start stringing. It helps to wet the mesh before stretching it. Also, when breaking in the mesh make sure, you regularly check your sidewall strings and tighten them to get a nice pocket. You want the mesh to stretch not the sidewalls.
And speaking of sidewalls. Always check them before matches and tournaments. You really don't want the hassle of restringing your head during a game. It usually takes too much time, since you have to restring both sides to get a symmetrical pocket. So make sure you check them before every game.
To avoid the problem of broken screws put a cork into the top of the shaft. This way the screw has some resistance and has a better hold and also stabilizes the head.
To get rid of that sticky tape feeling when you put a fresh roll on your stick, throw some baby powder on it. The baby powder clings to the tape and makes it smooth.
What you can do is using some strings to pinch the head in the right position. After that you heat a pot of water and wait until the water is boiling. Put the heatet water in another bowle or sink and put your head with the strings around it for one our inside the boiling water. After that you can take the strings off your head which then should be pinched perfectly well.
